     The name of every American who died or is still listed as missing is inscribed on walls of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
     I wish every millionaire football player that takes a knee during our Anthem goes to the wall and reads every name and gets an understanding of what sacrifice is all about.






                                         

SCOTT #1802 VIETNAM SERVICE MEDAL 15 CENT

    I just thought this was the time to display this stamp honoring Vietnam Service Men. Every time I see one of the privileged millionaire football player on his knees for the National Anthem, I think how lucky they are to be in a country that they can get away with it.
    Goodell, commissioner of football is a coward for not enforcing football's rules on standing for the Anthem. Some boss, afraid of his hired help.

     In 1947, Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier when he became the first African American to play major league baseball. He played his entire career with the Brooklyn Dodgers.      The 1992 Summer Olympics were held in Barcelona, Spain. There baseball -- America's national pastime -- became an official Olympic sport. First introduced to the Olympics in 1912, America demonstrated the sport 7 times in all before it was admitted to the games.







                                     

SCOTT #2647-96 WILDFLOWER SHEET 29 CENT 1992

     Exquisite flowers in vivid colors make these 50 stamps some of the prettiest and the most popular. In fact, the Postal Service was so certain this sheet would be in high demand, they ordered a press run tree times larger than that for normal commemoratives!
     All of the wildflowers pictured on this lovely sheet are native to America, and at least one or more can be found in each of the 50 states.






                                

SCOTT #2750-53 AMERICAN CIRCUS 29 CENT 1993

     For thousand of years, children of all ages have loved the wonder and spectacle of the circus. Circus-type shows can be traced back to Roman times, but traveling circus shows existed during the Middle Ages of Europe. The circus as it is known today was developed in England.
     For years, large American circuses such as Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus performed their acts in huge tents; the largest housed the biggest attractions and was called the big top.Today, most large circuses perform in indoor locations.






                                    

SCOTT #2806 SYMBOL OF AIDS AWARENESS 29 CENT

     The Aids Awareness stamp features the red ribbon, which symbolizes
 concerns for the victims of the disease.  Thirty other nations and the United Nations also released Aids awareness stamps.





                                   

SCOTT #2819-28 SILENT SCREEN STARS 29 CENT

     Legendary artist Al Hirschfeld created these Silent Screen caricatures. Hirschfeld's trademark is the addition of the word NINA, his daughter's name, in the lines of some drawings.







                                   

SCOTT #2862 JAMES THURBER 29 CENT

     Author, humorist, play-write, and cartoonist James Thurber published 31 books and was frequently featured in the New Yorker magazine. His popular works include the short story, "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty," and the play "The Male Animal." This stamp features a Thurber self-portrait titled "Male Type."






                              

SCOTT #2875 100TH ANNIVERSARY ISSUE $2.00

     This souvenir sheet celebrates the 100th Anniversary of U. S. stamp printing by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. Previously, private companies had printed American stamps. The Scott #262 stamp featured on the sheet was created in 1894 and was one of the first two designed at the BEP.






                           

SCOTT #2966 POW/MIA 32 CENT

     Issued on Memorial Day, May 29th, 1995, the POW/MIA stamp features a pair of identification tags--often called Dog Tags. Military veterans and their supporters conducted an extensive lobbying campaign to get this stamp issued. Public response was overwhelming -- hundreds of thousand of people signed petitions supporting it's issue.





                                  

SCOTT #73 ANDREW JACKSON 2 CENT

     With the introduction of home delivery in 1862, a 2 cent stamp was needed. The design picturing our 7th U.S. President was put in use. The famous stamp is know to collectors as the "Black Jack".
     Now here is the interesting part. In 1863 a Confederate 2 cent stamp uses the same portrait. So the USA and the CSA had a 2 cent stamp with the portrait of Andrew Jackson, at the same time, during the civil war.
