SCOTT #3653-56 TEDDY BEARS 37 CENT

Teddy bears have been part of American culture for a 100 years. The toy owes it's nickname to our 26th President. On a 1902 hunting trip, Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt refused to shoot a bear tied to  a tree.A cartoon in the Washington Post immortalized the incident. Soon after, Brooklyn store owner Morris Michtom asked the president for permission to call stuffed bears "Teddy's Bears". The rest is history.

SCOTT #4604-07 DOGS AT WORK 65 CENT

More than man's best friend, dogs provide a variety of services to people. As guide dogs, they lead the blind. Search and rescue dogs help find disaster victims while police and military dogs can detect drugs, guns, and explosives. Therapy dogs, known for their friendliness, comfort the elderly and sick.
These 65 cent stamps can be used on letters up to two ounces.
