     The striking images featured in this sheet represents 20 of the greatest American photographers. The stamps are arranged in chronological order according to when the pictures were taken. The earliest photographs date back to the Civil War era. The sheet's selvage depicts a photographer with an antiquated camera on the edge of a cliff, from a photo taken by William Henry Jackson. The 2002 release of this sheet marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Ansel Adams.
