CIVIL WAR STAMPS

On April 9, 1865, America’s long, bloody Civil War ended.  However, it would take years to repair the nation’s physical and psychological damage.  This included restoring the US postal system to its integrated form after the Confederate States had been responsible for their own mail during the war.
