The fish shown on this sheet live in the lower mid-water and deep water regions of the ocean. Reaching depths of 35,000 feet in places, this place is totally devoid of light. In order to live in such an environment, many of the fish have light-producing organs within their bodies.

APFELBAUM

Update. As the self proclaimed watch dog I'm happy to make this report. On 6/17 I tracked 7 different items and their starting prices. On 6/18 they ran a 20% off sale, that was truly a honest sale. On 6/21 they ran a 25% off sale, and again it was off the original starting price. I think through my Blogs that I accomplished Apfelbaum from raising their prices before running a percent off sale. I now recommend buying at their 25% off sale.

SCOTT #2869 & 2870 LEGENDS OF THE WEST 29 CENT SOUVENIR SHEETS

In 1994 the Post Office produced a souvenir sheet called "Legends of the West". Unfortunately, they depicted the wrong black cowboy. The portrait was to be of the famous rodeo rider Bill Picket, but the picture was of his brother Ben. They reprinted the sheet with the real Bill Picket. I'm going to post both pictures. See if you can tell the difference.

Counting from the top, it is the seventh picture. Notice the left arm in one picture is touching the frame, that is Bill Pickett.

APFELBAUM

As the self appointed watch dog on Apfelbaum stamps, I want to report that this week's offering went this way. I checked their prices on 5/26 and they were a little high. On 5/27 they ran a 10% off sale and they did not raise the original prices. On 5/30 they ran a 15% off sale, and again they did not raise the original prices. On 5/31 they ran a 20% off sale, and to their credit they kept the original prices in tact. I tried to buy 4 lots totaling over $500.00, only to find Missy Apfelbaum blocked me from buying from them because I pointed out their unethical way of doing business. So, on 6/1 they ran a 33% off sale, and this is where they get you. All the original prices were raised 20 to 30%, to trick the unsophisticated buyer. Again, I caution all buyers, don't fall for this deceptive practice.
