1876 WASHINGTON 3 CENT EMBOSSED COVER SCOTT #U-25

This unusual envelope from 1876 has an embossed 3 cent Washington stamp in the colors of green and cream. What makes this envelope unusual is its contents. Enclosed is a lengthy letter where the writer narrates her trip to Washington, D.C.explaining in detail of all the sights she visited. The interesting part is when she claims she met President Grant.
