PERFIN -- OR PERFORATED INITIALS SCOTT#400, 400A,401, AND #422

PERFIN, a term used in the 1910's--usually not a cancellation as such, but rather a privately administered punching into the stamp of one or more initials. Most often, the initials was of a large firm that wished to prevent personal use of their stamps by employees. Offered on a 7 day auction are 4 of these rare stamps beginning 9-22-13 and starting at 99 cents. To go to auction  click here.
