i think those heroes would say 'i disapprove of what you say but i defend to the death your right to say it.' part of what the flag represents, is the right to protest against it.
Besides, saying football players are disrespecting veterans by protesting racism is like saying Rosa Parks was disrespecting bus drivers...
But I don't think they were protesting what the flag represents, but actually, originally, Police brutality. Yes, right to peacefully protest is part of what the flag stands for, but in front of the flag is not the place to protest other things. This latest group was really protesting what Trump had to say, just because they are against Trump. Not the place for that either. A lot of people I talked to didn't even know what they were protesting, so not doing much good anyway,and it was going against league rules. Just my opinion.
