     Noted for her compassion toward the poor, Mother Terresa (1910-1997)-- A Roman Catholic nun and winner of the Nobel Peace Prize---served the sick and destitute of India and the world for nearly 50 years.
     In 1996, President Clinton and the U.S. Congress awarded her honorary  U.S. citizenship, an honor bestowed on very few.
